Established in 1860 and originally called the Victoria Hotel, the Huntly Hotel has long been a regional institution where locals and travellers alike have gathered for a good meal and a cold drink. Over its many iterations throughout the years, the Huntly has been renowned for its welcoming, friendly service and relaxed country atmosphere. It stands as the oldest surviving building in Huntly.

With roots in Bendigo’s gold‑rush era and a new chapter underway, the Huntly Hotel blends heritage charm with contemporary comfort. As the venue expands, you’ll find more spaces to eat, drink and stay a little longer, from a bustling bistro and artisan offerings to immersive entertainment zones that invite you to come out and play. A significant investment in 2026 will see the Huntly Hotel more than double in size, welcoming a new generation of families, locals and explorers and invite them to experience an entertainment destination that moves far beyond the traditional pub.

With the expansion of the dining and drinking zones, the kitchen will also double in size. The addition of a state-of-the-art pizza oven will keep hot, cheesy slices coming all day long with house-made tomato sauce made from local Huntly tomatoes. An immersive artisan gelato station will take pride of place between the bar & bistro, making and serving mouth-watering flavours made from locally-sourced Keen’s eggs and fresh Warrnambool Dairy milk.

Alongside a 300 seat bistro, the Huntly will enjoy the addition of contemporary function spaces catering for up to 250 people, the expansion of the heritage Sports Lounge to incorporate free-play electronic games (such as a golf simulator and virtual reality games), and a refresh of the beautiful, rustic beer garden. The already-launched 150sqm ‘Game On’ kids’ zone is a first-to-market for the Bendigo region, offering multiple arcade games, a jumping castle, air hockey table, soft play and a half-court basketball court - with all games completely free to play, all the time.
